Being the oldest whisky ever bottled by the distillery, Aberfeldy 49 Year Old is its ultimate expression of its maturity and excellence.
Filled in to a refill Hogshead on 6th August 1975 and left to slumber in oak for nearly half a century, the whisky was handpicked by Malt Master Stephanie Macleod. Drawn from a Single Cask, the precious liquid has been chosen for its finesse and fine quality. Exceedingly rare and unique, it is truly one of a kind.
This whisky is a true ode to the Aberfeldy house style – sumptuous notes of sweet honey drizzled apples and perfectly ripe pears, intertwine and fill the palate, before making way to a subtle cinnamon spice to finish.
This exceptional Single Malt is suitably encased in a beautiful and sophisticated bespoke Crystal Carafe, handmade in France by one of the most prestigious crystal glass makers in the world. La Cristallerie Royale de Saint-Louis was founded in 1586 and is the oldest crystal maker in the whole of Europe. The Aberfeldy decanter is crafted entirely by hand, taking an incredible three weeks and the combined skills of fifteen Saint-Louis master crystal makers to forge just one decanter. Aberfeldy 49 Year Old Single Cask #3978 is a true collector’s gem.
